2017-18 Bergmeyer Scholarship & Mentorship Experience

The mission of the Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) is to support students studying in the field of retail design and planning and visual merchandising; therefore, PAVE has created the Student Scholarship Program to assist students with funds to cover basic needs. Over the past seven years, PAVE's Scholarship Program has proudly granted over $150,000 to students.

The Bergmeyer Scholarship recognizes and supports leadership potential in Interior Design and Architecture through a $1,500 scholarship* and a multi-day expenses-paid** opportunity to take part in an immersive experience learning from some of the industry’s top designers at the Bergmeyer studios in Boston, Massachusetts.

Guidelines:

  1. Student must be enrolled in a program working toward a degree in Interior Design or Architecture, with a focus in the retail environments industry.
  2. Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
  3. Student must be a full-time student enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.
  4. Student must be a United States or Canadian Citizen.

Application Requirements

The following items must be attached to your application form for your request to be considered:
  1. Letter of Explanation: (Max. 600 words):
    • Tell us about yourself. Why are you interested in a potential career in the design of retail, restaurant or hospitality environments? Describe a retail experience or engagement with a brand that has been memorable and meaningful to you.
      (Essays should address all of the above topics for consideration by the PAVE Scholarship Committee.)
  2. Project Folio of 6 pages maximum
    • Describe a retail related project (student based or professional) that you’ve worked on and that you are proud of (include supporting visuals).
  3. One reference. Can be a professor, faculty member or an employer (including internship supervisors), we will just need the contact information for your reference - references CANNOT be friends or family members.
  4. Must include a copy of your transcript (official or un-official).

To be considered for these funds, I understand that I must be enrolled as a student in a program for design or architecture. I am a full-time student enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours. The information I have provided and outlined in my letter is true. Any suspected fraud will be reported to the student’s educational institution.
